DeeBee's Silog Kitchen Food Review
Get ready for big servings and awesome flavors when you dine at DeeBee's. Located at UUHSA Village in Brgy. Ulas (on the other side of Mercury Drug just past South Star Drug), DeeBee's provides a robust but very affordable all-day breakfast menu.
What I tried:
Beef Pares
For only Php 80, you get a medium-sized but deep bowl, filled with about 2 cups of rice and topped with beef brisket chunks, sunny side up egg, sprinkled with fried garlic bits, and garnished with cucumber and tomato slices. Wonderfully seasoned, the beef was tender and flavorful. The smell and taste of the star anise was just right and the bowl was thankfully not swamped in sauce. I love how perfectly cooked the fried egg was, and not salty too. Kudos to the chef for going easy on the salt since the sauce was salty enough for the whole dish.
Chicken Mami
This is chicken mami for the soul. I love how cheap dishes like this actually satisfies your palate compared with expensive versions from restaurants. The light broth was seasoned properly with pepper and garnished with spring onions and toasted garlic. It even has crunchy and fresh veggies. There were ample chicken strips and the egg was hard-boiled just right but the noodles could do better.
Beef Mami
If you'd like something heavier than chicken mami but lighter than a full rice meal, then you might opt for beef mami. It has the tender beef strips, and savory broth and garnishes.
Tapsilog
Tender beef jerky bordering on the salty side but that's typical with tapa. I prefer dry version of tapa but this one tastes fine. It is also served with cucumber and tomato slices and toasted garlic.
Chicksilog
A perfectly fried quarter chicken: juicy and tender. Even though I didn't quite like the smell of the cooking oil used, I'd still order this dish.
Lomi
DeeBee's lomi has shrimps, squid balls, quail eggs, and noodles in thick soup. There were diced carrots and some leafy greens too. A very filling comfort food I did not enjoy because it was too salty.
Tocilog
The tocino was tender and sweet. It tasted like holiday hams with honey glaze.
DeeBee's sets the bar for quality everyday dishes. They even serve mineral water for refreshment. I love how generous their servings are and how the toasted garlic is always present in every dish.
