New Davao Famous Restaurant Food Review
A Chinese restaurant that has been around since time immemorial, the New Davao Famous Restaurant has taken on a new look but has maintained, if not improved, authentic Chinese flavors. It feels good to be back after 13 years.
What I tried:
Regular set meal: plain rice, chopsuey, lumpiang shanghai, nido soup
Special set meal: fried rice, chopsuey, buttered chicken, nido soup
Siopao Bola-Bola
One bite and I knew this is how Chopsuey should taste like. Fresh and savory at the same time. Composed of crunchy stalks of asparagus, snow peas, button mushrooms, pork strips and pork stomach. The sauce was a bit oily but I would let that pass since I was satisfied by the overall taste of the dish.
Those bite-sized crunchy rolls are comfort and satisfaction in each bite. Lumpiang Shanghai is a kind of dish that you will order every time you visit.
The Buttered Chicken was a perfect example of skin deep beauty. The skin was crispy and buttery and oh the taste was heavenly but when you get to the meat, blood oozes out. What a shame. Consume at your own risk.
An excellent appetizer: not too heavy nor too salty and served in a cute pot. The Nido Soup is a staple for each meal.
I forgot to take a photo of the siopao but I trust that y'all know whThereat it looks like.
You’re meat bun cravings are guaranteed to be satisfied by the bola-bola Siopao: a filling snack or a light meal by itself.
There is no surprise as to how Davao Famous Restaurant has survived amongst many competitions and: It simply serves quality dishes that satisfy Filipino-Chinese food cravings. Thank you for not letting us down through the years.
