Rustic Cafe Food Review

Rustic Cafe is one of the many coffee shops that sprouted like mushrooms in Digos City.

What I tried:

Spaghetti Bolognese (Php 65)

Pasta Carbonara (Php 55)

Latte (Php 90)

 
Spaghetti Bolognese

The Spaghetti Bolognese used beef slices instead of ground beef. The sauce had the right amount of tomato sourness and sweetness but they added ketchup to it. The garlic bread was nicely toasted though there wasn't a hint of garlic in it. I think margarine was spread instead of butter.

 

For the carbonara, the white sauce was watered down and tasted plain. There was a fair amount of shredded chicken which naturally dominated the flavor of the whole dish reducing it to a mere chicken pasta meal.

 

The latte was the right blend of smooth, strong and creamy. Simple and delish. Nailing the regular latte speaks a lot about the rest of the caffeinated drinks.

 

Food in cafes are naturally expensive because it's actually the ambiance and the place that you're paying for. In Rustic Cafe, the atmosphere was nice though too posh to be called rustic. The staff were friendly but they seriously need to install or add more exhaust fans where needed. The smoke from the kitchen hurts your eyes and makes your hair smell. Not cool.

Try to arrive at the restaurant an hour before or after lunch/dinner time to be catered by the staff while they aren't busy yet.
